Despite being retired for almost three years now, I still follow what's going on in the technical communication field. Here are some useful links that I've come across recently.
- Get Into the Basics of Styles in Word. If you aren't using Word's styles 0(and you should be), this article covers the basics.
- Multip/0le Products Security Advisory. From Atlassian, if you use Confluence or any of their other products, you need to look at this.
- Now Available! Complimentary Access to the November 2021 Special Issue: Storytelling in Technical Communication. This is the academic journal of the Society for Technical Communication (STC).
- Presentation recording -- 'Best practices in API docs: Product overviews and getting started tutorials'. A presentation by Tom Johnson.
- Do I Need a Style Guide? Good advice from Rhonda Bracey.
- Is there any more room for innovation in tech writing? Looking at some old docs, Bob Watson realizes that some things haven't changed much since 1988.
