Links to things I found interesting but didn't want to do a full blog post about.
- Astronomers Have Finally Measured How Deep Jupiter’s Great Red Spot Goes. It's deeper than Earth's atmosphere.
- 7 Top Secret Features of the Free VLC Media Player. "VLC should be your media player of choice. The cross-platform tool has a bag full of secret features you can use right now." I've been using VLC for many years and didn't know about most of these features.
- Full Timeline of the Dune Universe (34,000 Years). A YouTube video that probably won't make a lot of sense unless you've read some of the books.
- John Coltrane's Unearthed 'A Love Supreme: Live In Seattle' Is A Revelation. Without This Little-Known Figure, It Wouldn't Exist. "The jazz world is heralding 'A Love Supreme: Live in Seattle,' a document of John Coltrane performing his masterpiece in 1965. But the story is bigger than Trane: It involves Joe Brazil — and the dogged archivist trying to bring his story into the light."
- Amsterdam-Rotterdam is the first European hyperloop network route. I don't see the advantage of this over current European high-speed rail.
- Portfolio of Nick Stevens on the International Association of Astronomical Artists site. There is some excellent art here.
- We Tested 6 Methods for Storing Mushrooms and Found a Clear Winner. The way I've been doing it is pretty good but it can be improved.
