Although retired, I still try to keep an eye on what's going on in the technical communication field. These are links to things that I thought were worth sharing.
- How to Set Up VS Code for Web Development in A Few Simple Steps. I wish I had been using this at the TSX. It would have saved me a huge amount of time when I was working on pages for my internal documentation portal.
- Watch Elton John improvise a song based on Richard E. Grant's oven manual. This is hilarious. We all need some humour right now.
- The Peetles: Technical Writer. Sung to the tune of the Beatles' Paperback Writer.
- Using text strings and microcontent (podcast, part 1). "In episode 90 of The Content Strategy Experts podcast, Gretyl Kinsey and Simon Bate talk about using text strings and microcontent. This is part one of a two-part podcast."
- Updating the Content Quad, by Rahel Bailie. "Content production is evolving, and with each change, we look for new ways to represent those changes. Despite not liking the term quad for its lack of semantics, I realise the usefulness of the quad style of infographic. It’s easy to visualise information in groups of four, or divisions by four. In that spirit, I’m introducing a new quad for content."
