Some Things to Stream While Self Isolating

Most of you reading this blog probably have subscriptions to some streaming services like Netflix or Amazon Prime. You'll be able to get your fill of crappy action movies and tear jerker romcoms to pass your time while holed up in your cave during the next few weeks.

But what if you want something different, an opera perhaps, or a classic movie?  Here are some choices.

• The Metropolitan Opera is streaming full operas from their HD opera simulcast series. "All “Nightly Met Opera Streams” will begin at 7:30pm EDT and will remain available via the homepage of metopera.org for 20 hours. The homepage link will open the performance on the Met Opera on Demand streaming service. The performance will also  be viewable on all Met Opera on Demand apps."
• The final concert in Amanada Palmer's world tour, from Wellington, New Zealand. Read a review here. The concert includes a reading by her husband, Neil Gaiman.
• Lecture #7: Short Stories, from Brandon Sanderson's course "Writing Science Fiction and Fantasy", with special guest, Mary Robinette Kowal.

• Free concerts from the nugs.net archive, including Bob Weir and Wolf Brothers, Wilco, Widespread Panic, Dead & Company, and Drive By Truckers. 
• 15 Broadway Plays and Musicals You Can Watch On Stage From Home. Most of these are on various subscription services.
